East Coast Adventure BaseA Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.
The East Coast Adventure Base (ECAB) at Camp Ho Non Wah is a program designed for older Scouts to compliment the traditional merit badge program already in place at Camp Ho Non Wah.
Ho Non Wah is situated along the Bohicket River and is only a few miles up stream from the Atlantic Ocean. With the Coastal Wetlands, Atlantic Ocean, and Coastal Barrier Island at our back door, Camp Ho Non Wah can provide a unique aquatic experience for all of our participants.
The tidal Bohicket River and Carolina Coast allow participants to see the full tidal change from the top of the marsh grass at high tide to the pluff mud banks and the fiddler crabs at low tide. These tidal changes also provide an opportunity to see a wide variety of wildlife including Ospreys, Bald Eagles, Brown Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, Dolphins, Porpoises, and possible glimpses of the Loggerhead Sea Turtle.
East Coast Adventure Base programs are geared toward Scouts 14 years of age and older and all are based around aquatic activities. Participans can select one of three program focuses: Sea Island Adventure, Coastal Sailing Expedition, and Learn to Sail Camp. Please contact us for more information.
